Artist Statement

Chizuco is a visual artist based in New York. She has studied abstract paintings at the Art Students League of New York and the representative art in Tokyo, Japan.

Her work philosophy is based on Consciousness Only.

There are the five senses -sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch-, consciousness and the unconscious. Currently, as visual artist, she pulled out the memory from the storage that is called consciousness and unconsciousness to paint. In her paintings, there are even imaginary creatures in those have never existed in the world. But those are stored in the memory through her experience. Her new project will be use other senses hearing, smell taste, touch-.

The new project she has done was the collaboration with guitar and dance.

Her work suggests the viewer how you feel and think through their experience.

She is the recipient of grand prize from ArtNetwork, Directors Recognition Award from Period gallery. She has exhibited in nationally and internationally. Her residency in Beijing, China 2009 developed her theory.
